Hypoallergenic surgical steel earhook
316L steel or surgical steel as it is also called contains about 10-14% nickel but as the nickel in the steel is tightly bound in the metal, only less than 0.1 millionth of a gram of nickel is released per cm2 and week. This means that 316L complies with the EU directive for products that come into close and prolonged contact with the skin.
The limit value is 0.5 millionth of a gram per cm2 per week. Nickel allergy sufferers usually cope well with the steel, but if you are extremely sensitive or worried, we recommend titanium or similar products.
- Open the loop by gently twisting it sideways with a pair of flat-nose pliers or needle-nose pliers.
- Attach your charm.
- Now close the ring on the earhook in the same way it was opened. Tip! Shape the hook to your ear and it will fit very well, or use our small silicone stoppers for extra insurance that you won't lose your earring.
